Community Bike Project

Helping More People Ride, One Bike at a Time.

When communities work together, great things happen.

A bike can open doors to employment, education, better health, and greater independence. By working together, we can help more people experience the benefits of cycling.

Our mission isn’t simply to recycle bikes. It’s to remove barriers and create opportunities.

This project is delivered in partnership with SHIFTA and Re-Cycle York. By combining Recycle York’s expertise in bike reuse with SHIFTA’s growing network of verified sellers, independent bike shops, and cycling businesses, we’re able to reach more communities and create a greater impact. Together, we’re helping quality bikes find new homes, supporting good causes, promoting affordable transport, and making cycling accessible to more people across the UK.

Bikes For Good

As one of the UK’s largest suppliers of bikes to charities and good causes, Re-Cycle see first-hand the difference a bicycle can make.

A bike can help someone get to work.

It can help a child get to school.

It can help a refugee settle into a new community.

It can help a family reduce transport costs.

It can improve physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence, and independence.

Through Bikes for Good, we’re working with charities, schools, community groups, support organisations, and independent bike shops to get more people riding and remove barriers that prevent people from accessing cycling. APPLY HERE
